About Galileo

Galileo is a cluster of computers in the University of Virginia Physics Department. The cluster currently consists of 12 nodes, each a 1.2 GHz Athlon XP, running Linux. One node has 1 GB of RAM, the others have 512 MB each. Each node has 60 GB of local disk space. User files are stored on a 200 GB RAID array attached to one node. The nodes are connected through a 24-port 100 Mbps ethernet switch.
